PLA (Polylactic Acid) is the default material for most 3D printing projects, and for good reason. It prints cleanly with minimal warping, needs no enclosure, produces almost no visible layer lines, and comes in the widest colour range of any filament we stock. If you need a shape to look right and hold up to light handling, PLA is almost always the cheapest way to get there.
PLA is a rigid thermoplastic with a glass transition around 55–60 °C. Below that temperature it stays stiff and dimensionally stable; above it, it softens quickly. That single number defines both where PLA is the right answer (indoor prototypes, display models, packaging, jigs) and where it is the wrong one (anything in a hot car, boiling water, or near an engine bay).
Because PLA prints with the least waste and the least support material of any engineering material, it also gives you the fastest and cheapest quote on the Yug3DAI platform — most PLA parts ship the same week they are approved.
